Trojans-Crocodiles game lived up to the expectations and was a real treat for all football fans. Both teams scored throughout the game and the lead was changing all the time. But it was the Trojans who forced the history to repeat itself and won the game by only one point. Just like in their previous game against Crocodiles. This time it was not the missed extra point that decided the game. On the contrary. It was the succesful two point conversion.
When there was just about one minute remaining the Trojans´ Mikko Virolainen made a catch in the end zone and reduced the gap to 39-40 and it was time to decide between extra point kick or two point conversion. Turku Trojans has always been known as all or nothing team so the desicion was easy. They went for the win. QB Dietz faked a run but instead threw the ball to LB Scott Power and the Trojans took the lead 41-40.
Crocodiles had still time to make the necessary points to win the game and they returned the ball all the way to the 50 yard line. On 3rd down Crocodiles QB Canadian Nathan Thompson attempted to make a long pass but TE Klaus Alinen who played also as a DB tipped the ball away. On the 4th down Thompson was sacked by LB Kalle Koivisto and that ended the game.Pics from the game
