The last game of the regular season the Trojans played against the Helsinki Roosters, reigning national champion which also had lost some key players during the offseason. The weather was rainy already when the game started but the Trojans had a flying start when QB Chris Dapolito ran the ball to the end zone in the second play of the game. The Roosters bounced back quickly as they returned the following kick off to the Trojans end zone but the missed extra point kept the Trojans in the lead.
Then it really started to rain and that stopped compeletely the passing game which of course was bad for the Trojans who missed it´s RB Teemu Paukkula and were forced to concentrate on passing the ball. Roosters managed to score two more touchdowns in the first half and took a 19-7 lead. After the half time the rain had almost biblical proportions and I heard a rumour one bearded man was gathering animals two by two to some wooden boat on the parking lot...
No more scoring happened on the second half and the Roosters won the game 19-7. This means that the Roosters took the third place and will meet the Porvoo Butchers in semifinals and the Trojans will travel to Seinäjoki to meet the Crocodiles for the third time this season. The winners of the games will play in Maple Bowl XXVI and the losers will play for the bronze medals.
