The Trojans QB Ryan Mitch got visitors from the USA and put up a great show for his family. Ryan led his team to an important victory over the archrival Helsinki Roosters. The teams had played 40 games during 23 years and 28 times the Roosters had left the field victorious. This time it was a different story.
The Trojans scored a field goal in the first quarter after bloking a Roosters punt deep in their territory. In the second quarter Ryan Mitch rushed the ball to the end zone and widened the gap to 9-0. In the end of the quarter the Roosters managed to make a field goal making the half time score 9-3.
In the third quarter the Roosters' Nathan Connor scored a touchdown and took the lead afther the extra point kick. The Trojans had a chance to regain the lead but its field goal try went wide. It seemed like the Roosters already had the game in the bag when suddenly Mitch threw a monster pass to Nicholas Madsen who was wide open in the back field. Madsen ran the ball close to the 10 yard line giving the Trojans a new chance to win the game.
Only under two minutes left in the game the Trojans pounded hard against the Roosters defensive line. Finally Ryan Mitch managed to brreak through into the end zone making the score 15-10 . The two point conversion did not succeed although WR Mika Sevon cought the ball in the end zone. The throw was a bit too high so after the catch Sevon landed outside the field.
Only 32 seconds left in the game clock the Roosters made brave attempts to win the game but the interception made by Seikko Vennelä ended their struggle.
Ryan Mitch's father Bob Mitch presented the game MVP trophy to his son. The Roosters MVP was RB Nathan Connor.
