The Turku Trojans signed Jayson Davis as their new quarterback for the 2008 season in Finnish Football League also known as the Maple League. Davis was the starting QB in Rhode Island University Rams in 2002-2005. He is a very agile and fast quarterback and he holds the career record for rushing touchdowns, 31. In 2003 he was also the second leading rusher of his team with 819 yards in 11 games.

Since his graduation in Rhode Island University Davis has played in semipro leagues. He is from Staten Island like the other Trojans' American player Johnell Wyatte, who played in Turku last year. They will start training together already before their arrival in Turku so we can expect they will have a great connection from the week one.
Johnell Wyatte was a real jack of all trades in the Trojans team playing in almost every position. Now the Trojans will have two of them as Jayson told that he can play in defense as well. The head coach Jarmo Rautiainen will probably consider him as a cornerback in some situations.
The Trojans has aquired many new young players and the negotiations are still going on for a couple of players.
