Lauri Mattsson used to play football for the Trojans as a young man but ended up playing for the Seinajoki Crocodiles later on. This season the experienced lineman is returning home. Tomi Vuorinen, another player with plenty of experience under his belt, has also signed a contract with the Trojans.
Lauri Mattsson will assume a lot of duties and responsibility here in Turku. Apart from his participation in the Maple League he has agreed to help the Young Trojans develop their skills. "It is hard to find a defensive lineman tougher and more experienced than Lauri here in Finland", says our manager Kim Gronlund and goes on to admit that he always just hated to play against Mattsson back in the day. Gronlund has very high expectations of him.
Tomi Vuorinen will be playing the offensive line. Gronlund reveals that it took a month to talk him into it but eventually the negotiations yielded results.
